Born in Penafiel in 1977, Miguel Ferreira graduated in Oenology by UTAD in 2000. His first real winemaking experience was in 1999 in the Douro - Quinta de São Luiz da Barros & Almeida - and he immediately fell in love with the region. He remained at Barros until the end of 2001.
Since 2002 he assumed the position of Director of Enology at Adega Cooperativa de Favaios, where he remains until today. At Adega Cooperativa de Favaios he formed a team focused on modernizing the entire infrastructure of the winery, improving and dynamizing the entire category of Moscatel do Douro and developing all the other ranges of DOC Douro and Porto wines.
At the same time, Miguel Ferreira has been a member of the Douro Taster Advisory Board since 2013.
